Have any of you guy's notice a small oil leak directly below the Turbo.

Some 4 weeks ago I notice some cruddy oil combined with road grime on the hose's running near the alternator, got a torch and looked between the water resevoir and the Turbo, directly below the Turbo sitting on top of the alloy cross member, was some old oil and road grime.

I took to this with some detergent and cleaned it all up.

Have been checking for a leak and now have some small drops of oil which is now becoming larger, not a lot but it will have to be seen to.

Has any other owner detected a leak, you will need a torch to see the area.

Shine the torch between the water reservoir and the Turbo looking for the top of the Alloy cross member, would be interested for some feedback.

Regards

Jeff White.

Yeah... was the french reviwers actually. Essentially it was an oversized washer that was the souce of the oil leak. The germans tried the lets tighen it to all buggery ... funnily enought the problem still existed. Its still a bit of surprise to me as I thoughts the blue ovel had addressed this issue back in Feb/Mar '04.

However the situation sounds a bit like tyre jockies at beaurepairs that strip the wheel studs cause they dont thread the nuts on by hand to begin with!!! :nfi:

Update, Booked my T in to local dealer, took T in , received phone call, problem fixed new gasket instaled.

Picked up T, now leaks more than before after traveling 250K's away from home and finding oil smell and smoke from exhaust.

Back to dealer on tuesday with please explain.

That happened to me as well. My mechanic told me that the turbo was leaking oil just a bit as well as the diff. So I took the car back to ford. The replaced the gasget in the turbo and told me all OK. 3 days later oil all over the ground. This didn't happen the 1st time. Took car back to it's second home and they fixed the problem again. Surprise Surprise...they replaced the gasget again. I asked why wasn't it fixed the 1st time. Ford said this time it's sealed. Crappy Dealers give me the Sh*ts. Well it's been 3,000K since they were replaced. Time to take my car back to my mechanic to make sure all is OK. I don't trust Ford.

Cheers,
