Two weeks ago mate of mine picks up his new Blueprint GT what can I say I was breaking my neck to get in and have a drive :spoton: . It took me a week to get over and see him and there it was :inlove: Beautiful, Awesome, Unreal just a few words that come to mind. So he throws me the keys and says take it for a run almost sprinted to the car, had to contain my excitement it was almost like the day I picked up my T anyway jumped into the exceptionally contoured driver's seat man those things hug you close (is this starting to sound like a penthouse article or what?) Turned the key and then nothing!! Doh! Starter button you idiot!! WOW what a rumble for more than a fleeting moment I thought about taking it to show SWMBO and doing a bit of a hard sell and I guarantee it would have been hard was from the time I hit that glowing red button. I though what the hell has this guy been doing only had 390k's so off I go, that sound is intoxicating couple of long stretches of road they just wind up so nicely through some twisty corners handling is in my opionion great for so much weight, nicely set up inside just felt so different to the T thing that impressed me most put your foot down and Whooshka no lag!! Woo Hoo!!! Now for the part that was more than a little dissappointing couple of times during the drive I thought I heard what sounded remarkably like, no it counldn't be not at this stage, so young, so beautiful and then It happened again that unmistakable dreaded scourge SHUNT!!!!!!!!!!!! :spoton: Unbeleivable but true with only a mere 390k's on the clock only very slight but nevertheless still there got back mentioned to my mate and wished him luck if ever he hoped to get it rectified not to worry I explained to him that many of us have reluctantly learned to live with it, :spoton: well at least put up with it he is a seasoned Ford man and has owned many a Ford his response ahh well typical ford Manual then! well anyway apart from that I'm in love all over again don't get me wrong still love my T but I can appreciate a little more what the GT owner's amongst us were going through after their first drive. Anyway sorry to ramble on just thought I'd share my thoughts.

Cheers!

A beautiful love story spolit, Ford you dickwits  :spoton:

out of interest mondie what are you moving into. :spoton:

l have pretty much decided on a 2002 BMW 530i hopefully with a few tasty options such as Sunroof and Xenon headlights.

Probably wont happen until later in the year though, no hurry.

That avatar cracks me up Mondie

Does the shunt only occur in the manuals or the auto's as well?"??Is the shunt occurring in the Pursuits as well

The GT I drove was auto with about 6000k's and had no sign of shunt
