The mod can cost as little as $300-400 dollars DIY.

The TEAC STB we are using is being replaced by the DVB420, but you should still be able to pickup a DVB400 from places like JB Hi-Fi, The good guys....etc...

CutSnake has written an excellent tutorial (Proof of Concept), which appears here, if you require any more info please post the questions here and we will attempt to answer them.

I will attempt to get some photos to add to the board.

Guy's,

I have just read through all the posts and the stuff cutsnake has done in terms of instructions, and you have done a fantastic job. Excellent work fella's.

Cutsnake, If people were interested would you make up a plug in kit with everthing you need, (as I like fiddleing around with these things especially the whole mounting thing, as I think if you take some time you can acheive a better job than the quick in and out boys) But I am a liitle bit electronically challenged as sometimes my patients is lacking.

But how much and would you be interested in putting kits togeather for forum members as you have done a top job mate.

The replacement for the DVB 400 is the DVB 420 retailing for $220. Whilst it is a 12 volt unit I dont know what other features are required to make it suitable for this mod. Not being tech. minded if someone can enlighten me I will research it some more.

Thanks for the comments Sykes, :spoton:

Unfortunately my daily job also extends weekends quite a few times and involves a fair amount of interstate travel, so I would not have time to create 'kits' as suggested.

Someone else might like to take up Sykes suggestion and make some $$ in the process??

The unit needs to be able to output in NTSC since this is the format the ICC screen uses.
