I just had by badges GOLD plated - Gold on Black AWESOME

What was involved, did they have to remove the badges? Some companies, I have been told, can do it without removing them, some have to take them off and put them back on.........and they never stick as well the second time. :spoton:

What sort of money did it cost you?

My mate had his done, then had the mags anodised gold........black car and looked damn fine. We'll see how the wheels stand up after a couple of months of cleaning and brake dust........

:pooh:

They did it with the badges still on the car - 24K real gold plate. Only the rear badges and outer rims of the ovals front and back. The side badges are thin and cheap plastic and had "NO METAL" in them so would not take the plate. The tech said that they are working on something to put on these cheap this badges so they would take the gold - just have to wait and see. I also got a spare XR 6 badge plated for the front grill which will be installed soon

Total cost - $100 :pooh:

Total Time - 3 Hours (In my driveway! - mobile service)

gold on black sounds pretty good as well but I think I'll stick to the black theme for stealth- but would be interested in the pics also.

checked out that tutorial on FPV site - well worth a look. Was interesting to see they do a quality check on their badged cars but appears they don't do the same for the others - if they did there might be less minor faults getting through. But still looking forward to getting my perfect black T at sometime in the future as I hit week 12 and still no word of delivery date.

Yes - something is amiss and not sure what but the good news is I got a call late Monday to tell me the car left Melbourne on Friday and they should get it Tuesday and will be ready for the weekend. But with all the stories I'm not holding my breath - the truck may have been hijacked or the driver was arrested for arms dealing. All the delay has done is to ensure that the list of checks I go in with keeps growing - but at the same time the anticipation builds anyway.
