That does not sound right. There are plenty of marks on the trees, in shot 5 you can see in the background the bark is only missing from the impacted side of the tree. There is also bark on the ground and the door looks pretty wrapped around the tree. It looks too good for a fake

Hmmm, I know its hard to tell with just a few pics, but what about the resident crash inspectors think?

Staged or Very Nasty?

This one has done the rounds a few times over the past year.

It looks very suss to me, staged perhaps. Where are all the engine fluids, small bits of wreckage, disturbed ground etc.

Maybe l am too cynical but l dont believe :w00t2:

I attended a bad prang the other day. I won't be too specific, but it was a car of similar size to an A3 and had hit a pole, coming close to tearing the vehicle in half (the driver's seat was where the passenger seat should have been. Impacted pole against driver's door).

There were no mark on the ground for 30 metres around the pole. This was because the car was 6ft in the air when it impacted with the pole. The car was travelling over 80km/h at IMPACT. Things aren't always obvious in a prang.

Having said that, will have another look at photos, didn't really look at them that hard before.

Had another look at pics.

The spread of all the little bits of wreckage all over the place is convincing, but in this instance the lack of disturbance on the ground is strange. Also, a double fatal is going to be roped off over a larger area than that, particularly if a body was supposedly ejected 20 metres. Who knows, and who cares, sobering regardless.

yea ive seen this somewhere else, I think it was on some site asking whether the pics were authentic, say if it really happened or if it was staged, there was like 100 replies to the topic, and they were still argue'ing the point after I stopped looking at it...

I'm unsure, there is no doubt that its depicted that the vehicle hit that tree at awesome speed. In picture 4 have a look at the base of the tree on the right side, you see a patch of bark which looks like dried blood on the corner. The sheet on the left maybe covering a body part and not the whole body, so the rest maybe 20 metres away, which is not uncommon. There is no blood in the cab in pic 5 but this is normal, if he/she died instantly there will be no blood as the heart stops pumping. It is unusual but I have been to accidents with the persons arm severed and hardly a drop of blood due to it not being pumped out.

I'm leaning more towards authentic but the lack of chew marks in the ground after the impact sway me the other way. So basically I dont know without being there. If I was there it would be a piece of cake, its a bit hard to fake a body laying there.............however my ex did it quite well

Fake or not fake, there's no doubt you can end up a mess if you stuffup when you're driving fast. Also, you can arrive where yoy were going without a scratch if you don't stuff up. Answer; don't stuff up, drive to conditions.

Looks good !!

Basically a car at high speed hitting an immoveable object is like a shotgun

Both turn a man into a crowd !

No ground disturbance, probably lifted off the ground when it left the road. Not nice
