Hey fello ute T owners.

I am sure you have all come across before but when a car is right beside you on the right,When looking in the side mirror there is nothing to be seen which is quite disturbing sometimes when mergeing.Has anyone fitted those little round things to the mirror that are supposed to give you a better view and if so do they work?.

No. Haven't fitted round mirror.

I just turn my head. The additional glass in the side pillar was a good choice by FORD designers. They've even included a demister into that glass panel, so FORD was obviously very concerned about the blind spot.

cheers

Well, if your drivers side exterior mirror is adjusted correctly there will be no blind spot.

Most people seem to want their exterior mirrors to show the side of their vehicle which is not the correct position for them. You ONLY do this if you are towing, or have a high load in the back which renders your interior mirror useless.

However with the now standard fitment of convex mirrors on the passenger side it is possible to have that side mirror aligned with the side of the vehicle and still eliminate virtually all the blind spot on that side.

To set your driver side mirror you need to take note of an object that is just visible in your interior rear view mirror on it's extreme right hand side ie your side. Then adjust your exterior mirror so that the object is just visible on the extreme left hand side --- see, blind spot GONE!

Otherwise stick on one of those wide angle mirrors, BUT BEWARE that the perspective and therefore the distanc to other vehicles is greatly misrepresented.

Yeah I too catered for this straight away, the easiest way to set the mirrors is to put your head against the glass and set the mirror so that you can see your tailgate, and then sit back. If you wanna see your side you lean right, if you wanna see the blindspot you just look at it normally. Do the same for the left only don't try and put your head on the left windows glass :censored:

compared to most cars the T ute has a big ass blind spot... nothing you cant work around though... I find with the position of my seat I can see out the little side window and the corner of the rear by turning my head, this fully depends on where you need your seat to be for driving... my missus has hers so far forward that she cant see sh1t, ill have to buy those little mirror things for her.

I have put on a small blind spot mirror, I got the small rectangular type, put it in the bottom right hand corner of the drivers mirror, and it works, & even looks alright, the rectangular ones don't look out of place.
