the prototype has a 5 speeder, well that's what it says in the blueprint mag. it's probably wishful thinking that you'll get 6 speeder because there trying to keep costs down to actually sell them.

any one know what the recomended torque handling is of the xr8 box?

It said in Motor (I know, I know) that the only reason there was a T5 in the Show car was 'to keep the tailshaft from dragging on the ground".

No pointers to a strengthened TKO or similar or a six speed though

If you are a betting man, "6" is a lucky number. For both Typhoon and BA2 GT.

5 spd auto's for 2nd build BA2.

:nfi: I'm with you, sounds like we are going to make a pretty penny of this one.

How could Ford use a Volvo automatic when the current ones are only 5 speed and can only handle something like 400nm of torque. Automatic versions of some Volvo turbo models are actually detuned compared to their manual conterparts so that the auto doesn't self destruct. Not likely. The performance and luxury models will get a ZF six speed auto with the base models versions either getting some type of five speed or maybe keeping the current four speed. Either way it doesn't matter as the Typhoon will be manual only until the new auto is ready for production.

:nfi: Could it be the six speed from the mustang?????????

:nfi: Don't believe what you read, believe what you see.

:nfi: And I see 6 speed manual again.

Most likely. The Mustang Cobra has the T56 that is geared well, it's not stupidly overgeared like the Crappadore, so all six speeds would be usable.
