Not paying $70k for a $30k car, sorry boys. If it was worth the $70k then I would not hesitate. Unfortunately these things don't have the build or component quality to compete at that end of the market, and if it's lik any other FPV product you will probably drop 15-20k in the first year.

Just my 2.2c :w00t2:

After driving an XR8 yesterday, the chances of me getting a Typhoon are now greater. The dealer told us that he will have 2 demo's in July. (subject to dealer bull$hit)

Unfortunately for me and good stuff for market pricing FPV do not offer govt. pricing. So unless I win lotto or pay off my house in the next 2 yrs, (both options have about equal odds. :w00t2: ) I will not get a Typhoon.

Ah well could be alot worse. I'm thinking about a luxury pack for my next vehicle or trying out an XR8 for awhile. I test drove one a couple of weeks ago and love the sound. :spoton::w00t2:

OK, what if it's a six speed with no driveline shunt and sells for less than a GT?

I'm still thinking about it..

Got a quote for another turbo, premo sound, brakes, sports wheel, and sports leather seats, 57k.

If the typhoon is under 59k it will be worth the upgrade, especially since the brakes, and sports wheel are standard. You dont get the leather seats, but the standard fpv ones are cool enough.

I'm in for a manual next time around, and if Ford have fixed the drive line shunt I'll most likely be a go-er.

I'm not due for a new car till may next year, so we'll see what happens.

Cro are you just a sucker for punishment?

Mate I will not believe that they will ever properly fix their drivline problems as they have been around in models prior to the BA. I put it down to poor build quality and cheap components.

My 2.2c

Drove a A4 Quattro Turbo the other day, very nice and no shunt, I fact I had to check to see if the thing was in gear it was that smooth!!!

Gotta agree with WhiteTee. I think the Typhoon will be an awesome machine but if they don't do something about the driveline I would'nt be interested. It's bad enough with a whining clunking $50k car, let alone dropping $70k on a car that sounds just as bad! :spoton:

:nono:

Totally agree, with the clunks, thumps and period noise from the diff plus the rollover chatter from the TREMEC and now the cluych issues surfacing on modded GTs I lost my faith and cancelled my order for the Typhoon yesterday. I love the cars and the GT but I ain't forking out another near $70000 for something that will probably clunk and thump and whine (I can do those things well enough myself).

No wonder this great country of ours is seen as the manfacturing joke of the western world :pooh: . NOT GOOD ENOUGH FORD. The entire QC issue should have been sorted by the series 2 AU 3 years ago
