Hiya

I decided to checked out the Melbourne Motor Show this morning....

I walked into the Melbourne Exhibition centre, and straight to the Ford stand... WOW! The E265 vehicle we've all heard about (4WD Falcon base) was on show for the first time. They've released it's official name - Territory.... The vehicle is simply awesome. Considering it's still a year from full production, this is one sharp machine. The body resembles the BMW X5, with it's angled back. It's agressive, yet family..... to keep with the developing trend of the new Falcon range. The only let-down were the 17" mags they had on it. They really did take away from the over-all prestege of the vehicle. The BMW X5 would have looked very 'normal', had it not had the awesome 20" mags compared to the Territory's 17"s.... I really think Ford's onto another winner with this one....

The Ford stand was simply packed with stunning cars... An Acid Rush XR6T, Venom XR8, Phantom GT (with those big damn yellow lines on it), and a truely stunning Blood Orange GT-P. To wrap it up, they had an F250 on show (that is one HUGE freakin wagon!!!).

I found the highlight of my day at the Expensive Daewoo stand though.... :beerchug: not for the shiney new 427 Monaro, or the VY HSV's..... the highlight of the whole show for me was seeing the new 4WD Late model camira wagon.... As a new XR6T owner, I was very proud when I noticed that they'd kitted out the 'very average' vehicle with a matress, pillows and matching blanket!! They're marketing this thing as a shaggin-wagon! Reminded me of the racing car blanket I had when I was 3 years old..... I guess they really are targeting Expensive Daewoo owners though... but I must say the boys with the flannel shirts were most impressed with the practicality of the vehicle.

I left the Expensive Daewoo stand with a huge smile on my face and proceeded back to the Ford stand for one more look at the Falcon beauties......

After the pain I went through during the AU's life cycle, I knew there was a very good reason I'd chosen Ford over Holden.

Thanks for your vision Mr Polites.

Sure was Steve. It looks AWESOME! The long wheel base make the car look even more prestegous. They've put the 220Kw engine into it. The one at the show was in Silouette.... VERY nice choice of colour!!!

Oh, some third party companies have modified the BA range too. One company has made a Coupe BA XR8... didn't look tooo bad..... Another company has modified a BA ute to have fold-up door (like the new Mazda RX8)....

Yeah wasn't the traffic CHAOS! Thanks mate, Pity you didn't catch up to me.

Got some pics, not many though since the crowds just wouldn't let me get a decent shot for the most part. I'll post 'em later :D
