I am thinking it could also be to do with the car having a long cool down time because we were waiting for the burnouts to finish so this took like 45 mins or so. so theres gotta be some advantage there.

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head Kilbot.

That cool down time is VERY important to pull a fast time!

Well done on a great time for a stage 1.

I wonder how he managed to get around the 2nd-3rd shift first time and nail that 1/4. So what power does your T have with stage one and is it a sedan or ute?

yep its an auto.

Had the car dynoed a while ago and got 212.9 RWKW's with chip, the car was still very new then, the car now has done 5000k's so feels like its loosened up a bit with a bit more power.

Was perfect weather last night it was about 5 degrees with no wind :spoton:

still I had much more trouble with traction than I did last time I was down there.

I remember when I just had my Xede put in. With only the Xede, centre muffler removed and my own 2nd cold air intake I ran 13.322 @ 105.37mph. I was rapt at the time and know how you feel. The problem you will have is that now that the bug has bitten you, it wont belong till you "need" phase II. :spoton:

Im just wondering... you say the autos are killing the manuals down the quarter, fair enough.. but I havent seen many manual times at all (if any).... any manual sedan boys oiut there run their car down the 1/4?

I am just going by what people have said on this forum and the majority of people say that the auto is better then the manual in the T. Plus, as you say, not many manuals out on the track but then again then ones that have been say its hard to launch them right and the gear changes are pretty average, etc.

I find this interesting as I will be in the market for a used T in the next 12 months and I always wanted a manual but it looks like the auto is better. I did drive an NA XR6 with the SSS auto and I must say I was impressed. I just assumend the manual would be more fun and quicker.

WTF???? Do you know what the rwkw was without the chip? :nod:

Hope that the car has freed up as a mid 13sec with 212rwkw does not make sense :nod:

One of the Vic guys had his manual T dynoed at APS stock and got 206rwkw which was the high end of a stock car, average is about 190rwkw.

I am just surprised at only 212rwkw, I would suggest that it should be very different next time on the dyno :msm:

:k24t: Manual's the way to go, alot more fun and once you get your gearshifts down it's not that bad.

Comes down to your own preferance, If you are only doing city driving then you may want to look at a Auto, if you do a mix of hwy and city then I would say Manual. You will start to see more modded manual's coming up, it's just that the Auto boys have been like rats up a drain pipe getting their's modded.

It seems that the manuals can take a bit more power through them before they start having problems, where the auto's show problems even at stage one if they have been down the quarter a few times. From recolection the Manual's limit is about 320rwkw where as the auto needs strengthening at about 260 odd. I will stand corrected however. :nod:

yeah I thought the output sounded low too. not sure what the original RWKW figures were but I did feel quite a difference. Remember the auto's tend to lose more power from the flywheel to the rear wheels. I think about 22%? and the manuals are 17%
