As some of you may know, I'm getting a new transmission chucked in my car this week.

And as ALL of you know, I've ran my car in hard for the first 15,000kms...

Who am I kidding, I've ran it hard for the whole 43,000kms I've had it.

Because of my run in procedure, I've got myself the most powerful (dyno) stock auto that I know of.

The question is, with this new transmission, do I have to run it in?

If I do, I want to get max power. Don't really care about long life as I'll be trading in next year at around 80,000 - 90,000kms.

How should I run it in?

Or, will the new tranny not make a difference to power output at all?

I went easy hard on my car when new also and when the second manual box was put in I did take it a lot easier and havent noticed any difference as far a power response goes!

Although I dont have any dyno sheets to show if there is any power difference

But I can say my new box is a much nicer animal than the first :pooh:

When I got my new gearbox I just drove it as normal. Not babying it but at the same time not flogging the guts out of it. I drove like this for about 800k's and then went open slather with no problems to date. The thing you'll notice is the pungent burning smell comes back you get when the car was new.
