Hi guys,

Just a quick question, have any of you installed a turbo timer on your T?

If so, where did you mount it, was it difficult to install it, did you have to connect it to the ECU and how did smartlock react to having the car on when trying to lock?

Im still contemplating putting on in but not sure how hard it would be!

Im pretty sure it will have to go to a performance place though, the Timer I saw has A/F Ratio, O2 Sensor readings, Battery voltage etc. A bit too complex for me :)

thanks mate ill do a search...........ps, dont agree with your comment about not needing timers, I know they are oil and water cooled but they still get hot...........a couple months ago I took my car for a "HARD" cruise through the national park. When I got to stanwell and parked, my turbo was glowing.

From what I have read, its not good to turn the car off whilst the turbo is still THAT hot.

Anyhow, ill do bit of a search

Peace out :)

Using a timer could void your insurance if it gets stolen... :spoton:

I think it might pay to check with your insurer..

It will void your insurance, cause they're ILLEGAL to have. Why can't you guys just sit in the car for 2mins and then turn it off, is it too hard to do that. :spoton:

why not just do a slow cruise 40/50 km for last few k's to home my thoughts your better doing this for a few k's so you still get air through the front instead of just sitting there in the one spot with no air circulation?

Hi Guys , have had a wrx for the last 4 years and have never worried about a timer as has been said drive a little slower for a klm or so or let it idle before switching off. the only time you really need to worry is if you have been pushing it and then it is a definately good idea to cool her down. Also why not use synthetic oil as it wont carbon up as easily.

In a T ?????

Now that requires will power that I don't feel that I am capable of. By the time I manouvre down by b*tch of a driveway though it has a pretty good oppurtunity to cool.
