Ultimately, if you want to run it, get it installed by a professional auto electrician who has experience with both the XR and the Blitz timer. You will have to make up your own mind here though! Been a member for a while, though first personal thread. Thanks to all for the amazing info I've absorbed from this site to date**Now, I have an FG F6 and wondering if anyone else has concerns of the optimal time to allow the engine to cool after a good thrash.I always drive very quiet in the last 2 mins or so prior to garaging and let the engine idle for about a minute before shutting off. I find that this almost always prevents the thermo fans from kicking in after I cut the ignition, so must being doing some good. How do you guys cool your machines - if at all?Does anyone run a turbo timer, is there such an animal for new Fords? Thanks! I thought it was a fair question...

I've noticed it mainly in the last couple of months when the weather up here in FNQ it quite hot and humid. doesn't always do it after a squirt. sort of random every now and then.thanks
CDR_078 Member 87 Member For: 13y 19d Posted 15/01/13 12:24 PM Share Posted 15/01/13 12:24 PM Leaving the engine on via a TT would only increase under-bonnet temps. The engine is left on via a TT to keep the oil pumping back through the turbo.

If you drive your car like you stole it right up to the point of shutting it down then a timer would probably be a good idea, but provided you either drive sedately for the last couple of minutes or let it idle briefly after you pull up then it's a waste of time. Do a search on here if you want to find some passionate debate on the topic. Nice mining BTW!
