Posted 23/05/04 11:20 AM Share Posted 23/05/04 11:20 AM Both are ok if the car is kept stock. If you do minor mods both should hold up ok. The auto will need strengthening after you put a chip in it (230ish rwkw's) and the manual will need something done to help it after about 300rwkw's. Not sure at what level the clutch starts to have issues. The auto upgrades start at $600 for the APS valve body upgrade. After 300rwkw's you are probably looking at some sort of different manual box. At the moment the auto's seem to be doing better on the drag strip, this could be because not many manuals are dragging yet.Hope this helps. Do a search there are lots of threads on the subject.Geea. Mario Mendoza Member 82 Member For: 20y 10m 27d Location: Blue Mountains Posted 23/05/04 11:51 PM Share Posted 23/05/04 11:51 PM Mate, I recently got a manual T. Given the chance again, I'd probably go the auto. The manual box just doesn't do the engine justice. It's quite notchy/slow and 2nd to 3rd is pretty lousy.Dunno, you may find it OK. Just think that the auto's gotta be the go....Best bet, try em both. Wish I hada at the time.

Ive read reviews of auto WRXs and theyre ordinary apparently.Floor it at any time on an auto XR6T and the response is pretty much immediate. :banghead:
