The Roadside Assist dude spent over an hour trying to get her going for me this morning, but finally had to give in and call for the tow truck. There was a whistling, high-pitched sort of sound from somewhere underneath the car at all times, very obvious at idle. Ford told me it was a dead fuel pump, and replaced it, after which the sound went away. Didn't effect the driving though (certainly not a dead T). They reckon the fuel pump is fine and that my car's alarm tracker system is running a "Denial of Service" attack by dropping all power to the fuel pump. This is weird since the Tracker company has already checked the system out remotely and everything is running normally (they even reset the system just to be sure). At least I'm not getting agro about being unable to drive my T. That could change if it's not resolved by Friday.....*LIVE from Singapore* Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10907-dead-fuel-pump/#findComment-126373 Share on other sites

That's about the only reason I got the crappy, overpriced "Ford" alarm instead of aftermarket. The problem was with a faulty controller card in the GPS alarm system. Replaced the card, all is now well. Only outstanding issue now is the Ford Service Dept wanting to be paid for labour to troubleshoot the problem to the point of proving the alarm system was at fault. This is being sorted out between the leasing company and the alarm folks (IMHO, should just be covered under the alarm warranty). As long as it's sorted out by COB tomorrow, I don't give a damn... provided I'm not paying for it! *LIVE from Singapore* Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10907-dead-fuel-pump/#findComment-127305 Share on other sites
