Thanks 56mainline. That is the plan and I have already been in contact with ford motor company and have a person that I can now ask for. I think all problems can be overcome but looks like I have to put up a fight to get there.

God666... LOL.... but I was actually parked with the car turned off..... are you getting the rattle in only one gear or all??

Usually when cruising in second gear. Very slight but bloody annoying. Normally only lasts a short while. I have found the best solution is to adjust clockwise the volume control knob on the stereo.

mine started the same way but is now evident in every gear and is constant.... is no longer the soft gentle rattle but a metal on metal rattle.....

Ive had a similar loss of power its as if its hitting the rev limiter but at 3000 rpm . It only happens on cold mornings when the temp gauge is at about a quarter . After the engine is right up to temp no more probs...

Jetute,

I could hear the back lash from 20 metres away when you took off. As for the gearstick rattle, it sounds like the gearbox is ready to lunch itself any second.

Good luck with the dealer.

Thanks for all the info guys!!!

bcr01,

Is the sluggish acceleration now fixed in your car??

51XRT,

Yeah I know, it really is bad... you have to hear it to believe it.

adamxr6t,

would this cause the car to seem like its running on four cylinders?

I have some great news, (double post from other thread)

I got avery pleasant surprise from my dealer today.. They called and asked if I can bring my car in for someone to have a look at it... went in and to my surprise I got none of that "that's normal crap".... My car is now getting a new transmission due to the excessive rattle(thanks to my dealer) my loss of power problem is getting fixed next week (again thanks to my dealer) they are going to find the cause of the black clutch fluid and fix it.... and wait for it................................... yes......... they said that there is something underway for the diff clunk ....... the replacement transmission could well lessen the shunt which would be fantastic until the fix comes through.

the feeling I got when I left the dealer was fantastic..... for the first time I can really say Thank you ford .... still have to drive the car the way it is for a few weeks but there is definate light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry but now it my turn to rant.

This thread has been a total waste of net space.

First you are wingeing about what a piece of sh1t car you have and how you have so many "ongoing" issues and mind you no mention of talking to any dealership on any of the issues. Just get on a public web site, can the sh1t out of your car and Ford and dealerships in general. Then miraculously, 3 days later, Ford is the GREATEST because all your "ongoing" issues are going to be fixed. Simply by doing a normal thing like talking to your dealer.

Maybe some dealers are bogus, and do give us a hard time, but generally if there is a "genuine" concern it would be fixed under warranty. Dealers dont intentionally open each day with the intention of seeing how many Ford owners they can p1ss off. For every 1 sour experience, I would lay bets the there would be 500 excellent experiences.

Moral: Experience a problem, talk and / or take the car to the dealer. They do try.

I'll get back in my box now, thanks
