The owner of that car was a nice bloke and was obviously rapt in the beast. He said it was the only blue pearl GTP in SA and kept telling me it was an awful colour and no-one with any taste would consider it. Well, it was the only car I really lusted after on that day when so many magnificent cars were on display.Anyway, when I saw the crash pics, I was pleased to note the absence of twin pipes on the left. So that lovely car is (hopefully ) still intact.

C'mon mate, its a good example of how well built these cars are. Zeke, those pics you posted are beautifil, that is the best looking GT l have seen, Blue pearl no stripes looks very classy! Wonder if its the same car, very hard to see much evidence of the quad pipes on the rear of the car its that badly caved in.l reckon the driver must have had a very sore back, looks like the huge shunt up the rear broke the drivers seat and sent him flying backwards. Looks like it may have been a different car then, very hard to see much evidence of the quad pipes which are aftermarket but look very sweet.Wonder why the owner thinks its an awful colour, l reckon its the best GT-P colour, wouldnt pic it on a GT though because the GT-P alloys seem to be what finishes the colour off so well.Cheers Simon

He was (jokingly - maybe) trying to discourage me from ordering the same.

No mate, probably a Herrods/DeFilpino setup. Look IMHO. If I had a GT that would be one of the first mods I'd do.
