Guest Craig Guests Posted 02/03/03 06:07 AM Share Posted 02/03/03 06:07 AM Thanks DagabondSo why/what difference does this option do? (I'm a mechanical n00b)What performance difference 'off the mark' does it make?Craig

The first time it happened to me I thought I had broken something in the motor. It's used to limit torque.Going around a long corner yesterday in the rain, and just squeezing the throttle a bit, the back end starting to move sideways, and before I even reacted by lifting my foot, it had engaged traction control and kept me on the line. The traction control is very smart, and quick (oh it didn't reduce torque from the motor this time when it came on)

Sure you may be able to drop the clutch in a Manual, and find Traction control helps?? But I'd say the take off would then be slower anyway? (I don't have a Manual so I'm just speculating)

I am convinced that it is the traction control doing this now.And before you ask...NO...I won't be trying it with the T/C off just to be sure :D

Guest cul08r Guests Posted 02/03/03 11:19 PM Share Posted 02/03/03 11:19 PM richdave,I have heard that the tc button works backwards. That is, if the light is on you would think that tc is active, but it is apparently active when the light is off. Maybe this makes sense?
