Today well into a test drive with my mate behind the wheel, he accelerated out of a roundabout. As he exited the car power just died momentarily, then a bout 4 - 5 pops and the power comes back on. I asked why he backed off...the reply...I didn't!

Now I'm wondering what actually happened

The rest of the drive went without a hitch and the result...."I want one...In black :D "

how much petrol was in it? sounds a little like fuel surge? I never let mine go under 1/4 tank of juice. when u went around the roundabout, maybe all the petrol sloshed to one side of the tank, momentarily starving the fuel pump pick up?

going out of the roundabout and powering through it .it is obvious what happened the traction control kicked in .the traction control sais that it applies the brake to any spinning wheel and also kills cylinders it has happened to me a few times aswell that's why as soon I hop in traction control goes off and away I go from gutter to gutter yeah

I would agree with PSI40L, I've had the same thing a few times. it's the traction control. if you arc it up coming out of a slow corner the traction control jumps in straight away to stop you losing it. turn it off and try again.

Definately not the rev limiter. The traction control idea sound plausible but I have done this before without such a violent (noticable) reaction. I reckon the traction control is for the most part, subtle and unintrusive, only noticing it's operation because of the warning light on the dash. Perhaps I'm not giving it enough

richdave,

I've found that if you are in a slow corner and give it a bit of throttle, the traction control is not subtle - it will come in quickly to the point where you think it has run out of fuel. try turning right from rest at an intersection with a good bit of throttle and see what happens. then try it agin with the traction control off.

cheers, scott
