That may be driving it "properly" will not make a lick of difference ?You seem to have some type of hidden hatred for me, if you do I am happy to discuss this further, but do not start a public slanging match If we do get a permenant fix by Ford for the clunk, I am sure we will see you in line to have yours fixed
jetute Donating Members 4,553 Member For: 21y 1d Gender: Male Location: brisbane Posted 07/10/04 05:58 AM Share Posted 07/10/04 05:58 AM I have the clunk... its not the actual clunk that gives you the sh1ts, its the bounciness in the driveline that is associated with it... I can tell you that it has nothing to do with how you drive... In peak hour there is no way to stop the the clunk/bounce.... and cro if you think that you have mastered this please feel free to come to my house and take my car for a drive with me.... Pm me if you want to take me up on the offer... Maybe you can teach me how to drive clunk free in peak hour traffic?? Maybe, just maybe there are cars out there that have it worse then your car does??. Mine gets worse as time goes on.I have never owned an auto in all my life.... and I have never had the clunk/bouce in any of my previous cars. Been behind the wheel 14 years. Im with Zap on this one

Same goes for the smartarse from Dana who came out to drive the car. Out of the 6 or so people who have driven the car only I can minimise the clunk, as I know when it's coming. And it's getting worse as the kays go on. Problem is always doubling the clutch means it won't last for long.

That may be driving it "properly" will not make a lick of difference ?I have driven/been in other cars far worse than mine with no problem.I have no problems with people asking ford to fix their clunk. It's when people knowingly bought clunky cars and then whinge that I have a problem with. You seem to have some type of hidden hatred for me, if you do I am happy to discuss this further, but do not start a public slanging match Your quick on the uptake...and there is nothing hidden about it If we do get a permenant fix by Ford for the clunk, I am sure we will see you in line to have yours fixed :lol:Well I bought my car knowing it clunked (like you). So if there is a fix, good stuff, if not I'm not going to complain because I expected it.

Slipping on take off and deceleration fixes my problem but we all know what this does to performance and clutch life.

Pitty they were all written AFTER I ordered my car. I ordered my car on the 16/2/04 and this problem was not as widely known as it is now (when you ordered yours). In the following months I had waited, there were many threads (that you have linked to) that were discussing this problem. While I knew the problem existed, I was NOT expecting it, nor did I want it. Just because you accept it, does not mean I have to. Nor will I sit by and let Ford tell me my $60k+ car is designed that way.If you have some personal anger with me take it up offline, I have no idea what it is about as I have never said a bad word about you, although I recall many personal attacks you have made about me...If you wanna take it further, bring it on, if not take a chill pill and crawl under your rock

What do they pick and choose who car they fix? Not that I am complaining as Phoenix is 12 months old next week and these problems have gone on for far too long for a new car. I am hopeful that this will be the fix as this is meant to be the revised diff that they have been working on for a while. When I spoke to my dealer I have also requested for the gearbox to be changed. I am taking the risk as this one keeps getting louder and louder and once again is not acceptable for a new car. Even though it has been classed as within tolerances, I have people in my car who know nothing about cars comment on how noisy the car sounds, it's embarrasing. The car overall is getting significantly worse as time progresses with the whine and especially clunking, surging or bouncing off the driveline is making the car awful to drive on long trips, as the minute it comes off power and there is slackness in the driveline you can feel the driveline fighting back which makes you surge back and forth. You almost have to try and keep power going through without acelerating to try to minimise it.Hopefully they will change the whole lot in one go, and I will end up with a great car that I can enjoy. Just keeping you in the loop. Sounds good mate, hope it is THE fix. You have been stuffed around no end until now.Personally l cant be arsed Cheers Simon

I had left it and accepted the car as it was (deteriorating by the k) and Ford CRC have actually been following me up on it, and I told them I was still not happy. They have continued to leave me messages with how the so called updated diff's were progressing (calling me once a month on avg) and have also been contacting the dealer in relation to my car.Since then they have done all the chasing As I indicated this guy told me I am flagged as a must fix Then the dealer called me yesterday as Ford had contacted them, and asked me to come down, took the serial numbers off the diff and gearbox and said they will be in touch when they come in.That's where I am at, just basically going along for the ride now.
