But what I am trying to say is that I easy the clutch rather than double clutch and let the revs drop 500rpm from the upchange point and there is no clunk. I can also make it sound quite bad by having it in third and going on and off the accelerator too. So to a point it is the way we drive as well. The best thing to do is to stay on top of it with your Ford dealer and something will be done about it. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the 6 speed as well. Yeah, it will be interesting to see if they change over the gearbox for you, will they give you a T5 or a T56? I think you may still get the old unit! To be honest the whole clunking issue has only been an issue for me because it was spoken about on these and other forums, otherwise I didn't really think much of it. I was told to leave my keys and pick up the car at lunchtime.I was a tad annoyed by not being able to speak to Stuart, but I did tell the service manager that I would NOT accept the following excuses:This is normal and within spec andThis is better than most of the cars I have seen So I guess it will be wait and see, I will let you know how it goes..... I would be faxing this post to Ford Motor Company and to the newspapers (I would inform Ford that I was doing so). Stewy doesn't deal with the public - what a load

I asked him how when people have specificaly ordered the diff over the phone and had a "grade 10" diff fitted did it fix the clunk 'n whine problem. He did say to me that they were about 1 month away from having a fix for the diff problems as Dana have sorted out the clunk 'n whine.....yeah it has only taken 6 years for them to come up with a solution to a BASIC problem. It could be the dealer spinning more to appear to have the situation in hand.....we will have to wait and see.

Yep, sounds like an arsetalker to me.If that was the case why would FPV waste half a day's time of two of their engineers to drive my car
