well dropped my car off at the dealer to get some mud spats fitted and to get a few minor things sorted out (water in indicator and clunky drivers side window).... left the car there for the day... went to pick it up and forked out the dosh for the spats... then I nearly had a HEART ATTACK!!!!!! the lady gave me my keys and said "and by the way, we road tested your car and your diff is causing a high pitch sound (a problem I have complained about earlier) and we have had to order you a new one :bomb: ....

SH1T... I have been trying to tell these guys that for bloody ages  but none the less am mighty glad that there is a new diff on the way :k24t:

Jetute, I hope you get the 10/10 diff this time :gooff:

Mine is going in soon for a few minor things, like 5th gear crunching, whine, xr mat has a hole, rear o/s inside handle fallen off again, drive line clunk, driveline clunk and overheating while idling. :spit:

I am also going to have the police speedo removed and also my car removed from warranty alert as I have pulled the aps out.

I guess I will hear the same story that its all normal :gooff:

MY MY05 STI has 3 diffs & 8 cv joints, all with no backlash, shunt or whatever you want to call it. If ever there was a car that was going to have backlash, it would have to be an STI (or other 4wd) due to the increased number of driveline components.  The jap engineers however would never let a vehicle into production with this sort of problem

SO WHY THE HELL DOES AN AUSSIE CAR MANUFACTURER?

There has to be some sort of protest. We should blockade the dealerships and call the media down to show everyone that we have been dudded.

Even though I dont have my XR6t anymore I feel that strongly that I want to do something.

FORD HAS TO PAY FOR THIS. I lost over $10,000 in depreciation in 6 months because of this issue.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

A member on this site used to own a MY01 WRX (bugeyed one), and he had diff clunk in that.

Blockading dealerships? You've got to be kidding. Why cause an innocent party, as in other dealership employees problems when it's Ford you should be targeting?

Your probably right about getting the same old story..... I know cause I have always been told its normal... but this time, for some reason, it wasnt :glad: but I can live with them saying that

Your fifth gear crunching could lead to you getting a new box.... 51XRT had the same.... first they blacklisted him (warranty alert).... and then gave him a new box..... This blacklisting is BS.... I know 51XRT and know how that car has been driven.... there is no possible way they could blacklist him... but they did :w00t2: and by the way, his car is stock :ermm:

RATT,

WRX's have 3 diffs and 8 cv joints, as opposed to 1 diff and 4 cv joints in the falcon, and mate I can assure you that driveline clunks in subarus are very limited, especially compared to the XR6t. My xr6t clunked every time I slowed down and Fords very own employees kept telling me nothing is wrong.

Considering the make up of the subaru driveline, you would expect it to be a big clunker, but its quite the opposite...... and I know cause I have owned 3 of them including my current car an MY05 STI.

The XR6 turbo has the potential of being among the best 4 door performance cars in the world, however with the driveline shunt issue, I dont think this could be so. BMW, Mercedes, Subaru, Honda & Toyota engineers would find this problem appaling, especially since nothing is getting done about it.

Simply put, Ford is putting PROFIT before PRIDE.

And by the way, the dealerships are the Nexus between corporate Ford Australia and the public and as such are the ideal place to stage a demonstration. Blockade the dealerships, Ford starts loosing image and money......... then action will be taken.
