The wheels are at least $5K. Herrod suspension is just shy of $1K. Not sure if the DJR car has optional Koni shocks or not, I'd say it probably does. Add another $1K if it does. Then there's motor mods, new cams (x4) plus whatever other bolt ons are added. I'd guestimate about $5K there, probably closer to $10. Exhaust including extractors would be around the same money. Body kit would have to be at least $5K, probably more by the time you paint it. The seats, door trims have DJR embroidered on them and are all trimmed in leather. Guestimate of price $5K, probably more. The instrument cluster has DJR lettering embossed on it, cost unknown. There is a dummy pod guage sitting on the dash (where the Fairmont clock usually is) with the DJR build number, again cost unknown but it sure as hell aint free. There's most likely ADR compliance factored in as well (a la APS/Unichip). Then there's warranty (not sure how much there is but I'm sure it's there). Plus labour to do it all. As anyone who's ever had work done by Rob Herrod you will know he is not cheap but he does a first rate job. He has to make a buck out of it and so does Dick Johnson.Sure you can go out and get 350kw (probably more) a lot cheaper, but by the time you add in all the other components of the package that is the DJR320 I don't reckon there would be too many people that could get it all done themselves for much under the DJR asking price. Redhawk ....Time to lay this fairytale aside...... Donating Members 2,657 Member For: 21y 9m 20d Gender: Male Location: In the Ferry on the River Styx, not getting out just yet! Posted 16/05/04 09:06 AM Share Posted 16/05/04 09:06 AM Some good points 'hoon, but don't forget with the GT you are starting with a blueprinted motor that has got 30kw's over the Boss 260 that DJ and RH are starting with. Also the GT is a much nicer looking car in it's stock form. Yes Dick and Rob have to make a buck, but when you look at Rob's prices I think he must have a very extravagant life style. One example: short shifter for the Tremec gearbox, Robs price, $550 + $30 freight (to WA).Tremec short shifter + fitting $490. Go figure. Not knocking the DJR 320, but I just don't like the look of the car, inside and out, so I would not shell out >$90,000 for a car I do not like the look of. Ricey? Nahh. Worth the $$? Hmm, maybe not. The skirt could have a little more detail as it looks like white guttering stuck to the side of the car, the rest. NICE!
