Hey there,

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with starting their cars? If it doesnt fire on the first fllick of the key, some people have told me that their car can take upto 5-10 seconds of cranking!! Let me know if you have had this issue. My car hasnt done it yet, but several of my friends have..

Happens quite a bit if you forget to hold the key around for long enough in mine. Took some getting used to. :spoton:

There's been a fair bit of discussion on this if do a search for it.

Once, I released the ignition key too early and the car didnt quite start. It was a dog to get going from then, nearly like it was flooded.

Just make sure you hold that key turned until she kicks over. I've learnt that from a few times just missing the start and sitting there for the next few minutes winding thinking I'm gonna have to get towed. I'm not exactly sure but I think it gets a gut load of fuel on start up and if you miss the start it kinda floods it's self.

the first time is the important issue dont let the starter disengage till u here the T fire up as if u do it cts more like its flooded and becomes difficult to start.

I was given a tip that if it happens, to hold the accelerator flat to the floor and crank it over a few times. It won't start, but apparently resets some 'doovy whatzit'.

Then, start as normal.

Was happening to me quite frequently some months back. Till I tried the tip. Hasn't done it since. :spoton:

Mine does it also.

But what I think is really cool is the auto disengage starter motor, just hold the key on start with the engine running and the starter will not engage. Now that's what I call smart thinking. Try it sometime.
