It was a long and adventurous drive from Perth to Melb. The GT took to the Nullabor like a duck takes to water and drove all the way without complaint or problems.

The real bonus was the visit to APS today, not only for the Unichip but also to see what a professional setup Peter has out there, and the dynoroom is another story entirely.

Anyway the bottom line is that the head tuner man extracted 263.9 rWkW out of the Boss and that's good enough in my book, all wired in and finished in 2 and a half hours. Now the car is a rocket, much more down low and all up through the range. Apart from visiting the beautiful state of Victoria, was it worth the drive? You bet!

I look forward to meeting all of you going on the Sunday run. grininvasion

Doc really good to hear that your happy with the Unichip tuning work on your GT, I must say I am surprised at the grunt that the big 5.4 GT produced..........must be a hoot to drive now, wished I'd had more time to go for a test drive with you............maybe on your next trip east.

Now make sure you watch out for all of the speed cameras around Melbourne, and no racing with the unmarked police LS1 commodores down the Eastern freeway, they don't have much of a sense of humor these days. :nono:

Hope you enjoyed your visit to APS, will catch up with you soon, make sure you get back to us with a full road report when you have settled into the beast. :nono:

Regards

Peter

Wow, that's excellent.

Is that from a Unichip, SS CAI, larger throttle body and helix spacer? Awesome  :spoton:

Also underdrive pulleys and Pacemaker extractors. Oh, he's had it lowered too.

Looking forward to Margaret River Rick, you'll have to take EID for a spin after she has said OK to my mods.

354 fwkw eh? lucky b@stard :msm:

Have a safe trip home mate. :spoton:

What mods apart from the Unichip???

I'm guessing a supercharger in the equation somewhere?

Doubt it!

If it had a supercharger AND a unichip it would want to make a lot more than 270kw at the treads!

270 at the treads is naturally aspirated im sure you will find.

OK, I've just been reading the "defectors" thread and have caught up with all the mods doc has made.

Excellent output without a blower that's for sure.

Just a couple of points doc - you claim that at 4800rpm in fourth you have 240kph showing - all I can say is that if this is the case your speedo is way off unless you have changed your diff ratio to about 2.35:1. 4800 rpm in fourth is about 165kph. Fourth gear redlines at about 200kph.

The other point you make is about the car's handling compared to the T6 - you claim it is tighter and flatter in standard form. This is surprising as according to the Ford spare parts bin they have identical springs (and shocks I think) and the GT is heavier at the front so one would expect a lot of front end wash out with the GT compared to the T6.

Anyhow, great ride :spoton:
