Well I actuallly want the V8 because of the power bulge and deep down I'm a V8 man through and through. I actually prefer the V8 at work, even though I have a Turbo as well (and it is the quickest out of the V8, SS and Turbo)* My plans are to have some flat black applied to the bonnet bulge (like I am having done in my work car) * have the rear of the bulge opened up and fitted with black mesh (for ventilation) * and have some modern day versions of the XY GT striping applied to the mid line crease in the car as opposed to the Mustang GT sill stripe (don't ask about the Mustang please)* gloss black in the rear valance (area at the back of the trunk/boot)This would be on the Orange, Lime yellow, purple colours and if it is a white ute/sedan I would go for blue Le Mans stripes over the hood, roof and tailgate/trunk similar to the XC CobraThe only options I am interested in is the performance brakes and leather interior. So what are the suggestions pleaseTaGrantBTW I am really tempted by the Fairlane G220

Whatever you choose will be a damn nice ride.As good as the G220 is (I drove one when they were first released) I don't think you'd be able to live with the auto - after all you drive one all day so I reckon after hours you'd want to be in a manual eh?I think you have already made up your mind and are keen to do the "touch-up" work to a BA V8 - go for a manual GT-P. I see it as the best value. BUT, try to talk a deal whereby you "delete option" the Brembos and get say a sunroof and sat-nav as a swap for them. The Brembos last only 40k and when you replace them you have to do rotors as well and the cost is around $3,000 just for the fronts I've been told. Now, if you really want my opinion I think you would already know what it is ... go for a T3 without a doubt. It will appreciate in value in your lifetime but a BA GT never will. I just picked up a nice T3 TE50 for under $40,000.Jeff.PS As for colour - a T3 looks nothing in any other colour than Silhouette ...
Guest Guests Posted 13/05/04 08:54 AM Share Posted 13/05/04 08:54 AM If you get a light coloured bulge, what about just blacking out the sides of the bulge.vik

There was a pic of an XR8 in a recent magazine down at the FPV day that had the those accents and it looked pretty good.

Sounds like a problem I'd like to have. For mine I'd be going the best TE/TS50 I could find . . . they were built when the chips were down at FOMOCO and they were put together SOOOOOOO much better than the current crop of BA's.Although a G220, Pursuit or new XR8 wouldn't be half bad either.
