Good luck , hope it works for you .

Something major has to be done to get this problem rectified . If you can get a current affairs show to get interested something may happen, otherwise, no offence, it could all be just hot air.

Ford have just got to stop treating their customers like fools.

Ill be signing, my XR8 had a clunking Diff and was never replaced and now my T has a clunky diff. Im sick and tired of hearing "Its all under specification sir". Its about time that something big is done about these problems.

Thanks.... I will start with the big bull itself.... If it doesnt come to the party, I will make sure all the bull fighters are willing to go public and we will then take the fight to a wider audience :spoton:

Whoooooa there fellas.

Slow down just a sec and consider.

At the moment everyone seems happy to blame the diff. But are you all mechanics? Are you sure? Because it will take just one found "good" diff to have the whole shooting match shot down.

What I'm saying is that there are several driveline components that can be possibly contributing to the shunt. Of course a diff whine is a diff whine and I don't doubt that those with a diff whine know it for what it is.

But the clunk can be in the rear half shafts OUTSIDE the diff. It can be anywhere from the clutch back, including in the gearbox. There are at least eight "break points" in the driveline from where the shunt could derive.

So I'm suggesting DO NOT specify any area from where this shunt is emanating - and just be non-mechanical in the way you word the petition.

If time and money were not an issue you might consider having a mechanical evaluation done of EACH of your cars independently by an automotive mechanical engineer. It may show up that there are many areas contributing in some vehicles, while it may be just the diff (or gearbox, or whatever) in others.

appreciate your thoughts there... there is no way that this will be a petition where we outline a particular fault in a particular component of the mechanical bull.... Already thought about that one... thanks :spoton: Will only outline a particular problem that all the bulls that will end up signing have, and need fixed, if you catch my drift...

Well guys, my car with 76km in my driveway has SHUNT.

Thanks Ford, $65k car and it sounds like a 1970's datsun.

I took the car for a good testdrive and no shunt. After 40km I thought I heard it and by 60km my wife even heard it each time.

I am not pi$$ed as I was sorta expecting it, but that does not mean I am going to accept it.

I met the service manager for my dealership and he is a mate of my best friend, so I am going to see if I get the no BS view and see if we can get it pushed up the list of priorities.

I will let you know how it goes next week

Bloody hell Zap. You've got shunt that's so noticeable after less than 100kms. that's bad, very bad. And the arsetalkers at the dealership assured you the car would be fine.

l am sorry to hear you are another victim of Fords penny pinching. It drives me farking nuts.

I had what I believe to be diff clunk on my previous car, an AUII XR6. I was unable to get it repaired. The dealer opened a PACE case on it with Ford, but we got nowhere. I have the problem a little in my manual XR6, but I don't know whether I am making allowances due to the previous ride or not.

There are occasions when you get a 'jerk' and a couple of thumps, typically when slowing down or taking your foot of the accellerator. I also find myself on the clutch a lot earlier than normal in 1st, purely as this stops this problem at stop signs, lights etc.

Is this what you guys are referring to?
