BUt I think that I wouldn't get much benefit, and that $1700 is way to much to spend on some illumination. I'm for adding spotties to the front if you need more lights for a lot of country driving. But me ill stick with the standard.Wayne Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10673-xenon-headlight-conversion-kit/page/2/#findComment-121187 Share on other sites

Guest XenonOz Guests Posted 12/05/04 01:18 AM Share Posted 12/05/04 01:18 AM G'Day everyone,I've been watching this discussion from afar and feel it's about time to fill everyone in on some facts.Firstly - thanks to Dallas for raising this topic and my awareness to the forum - I hope we can help all you guys with XR6's enjoy your car even more while greatly increasing its safety for you and your passengers.1. XenonOz is an Australian company that has spent the past 4 years developing a TRUE Xenon upgrade kit for the Australian market. During that time we have come across all sorts of things claiming to be Xenon - but most of the time they are nothing more than blue painted globes. (Some of the globes / kits etc I see I wouldn't put on my tractor).2. XenonOz products are the same quality and materials as is std equipment on most European Xenon euqipped vehicles. We don't source any parts from outside Europe - and the quality we are required to delivery to our larger OEM customers is zero failure rate.3. Most Falcons have H4 - high and low globes as std - and we have a kit that will give you true Xenon performance on both beams. (I will check a current BA model later today and confirm). Pls be aware the most noticeably improvement is not due to wattage - but increased lumens and the colour of that light.4. Yes it's easy to add a few extra spotties to your car - but think about this please.A) This will NOT improve LOW Beam at all.B) The extra lights are now available for all to see and steal. (This happens more than you think). Our kits fit into your std light assemblies and are secure under the bonnet.C) Our kits will NOT interfer with any SRS systems - unlike the possiblity of ANY additional no factory items mounted on the front of vehicles with Airbags.D) Our kits are 35 watts - so the heat and power required to drive these things is LESS than what you have today.E) I agree a BA has a good High beam but it's low beam can certainly be imporved.5. ADR - An interesting topic that we are actively involved with DOTARS, RTA , NRMA etc. As of today there is no ADR that covers Xenon lights. The European std - does require levelers and washers - but Australia has yet to issue a std for this. Indepentent tests have shown badly aimed Halogen lights -= or badly scratched halogen lights have much higher levels of "glare" than any Xenon system. (Interestingly enough are you all aware that window tinting is illegal as well?) How many times have we seen cars/trucks etc with only one light operational? True Xenon technology has a much longer lifespan than conventional filament technology. If/when DRL (Daytime running lights) are introduced into Australian stds - OS tests have shown a marked decrease in day time accidents as a results of driving with your lights on.How many times do we see mis aimed lights coming at us - or being driven behind us. ANYONE who fits additional lights OR our kits has them correctly aimed. Does anyone remember what a headlight aiming device looks like? Last time you had your car checked for rego - was the headlight aim checked? 6. Our kits cover a full no questiosn asked 12 month warranty.7. If you change vehicles you can take the Xenon kit with you - we will offer you a pro rata rebate / trade in on the globes - so you only need to purchase new globes. I'm not sure any one else will offer this type of investment protection?8. If you want the best quality it does cost more $$. We aren't trying to rip anyone off - chek our prices against the web based ones - and ask your self this question."Who will I deal with LOCALLY when I have a problem?" 9. Would you put retreads on your pride and joy? Then don't waste your money on $100.00 solutions when the right way to do it once does cost more - but will last for this car and the next one and the next one. (Our products are rated at 4-8,000 hrs of operation - std halogen bulbs are 400 hrs.) The H4 Dual beam XenonOz kit is $1795.00 RRP. H7, H1 etc single beams are $1595.00. Fitting is very straightforward and all kits come with instructions on how to do this in approximately 30 mins.10. Human eyesite degrades to the following degree (So my father who is a highly qulaified opthalmic surgeon tells me) - A 40 year old person has the night eyesight of a 20 year wearing sunglasses. I'm 48 years old and I'd rather see than extra 50 metres down the road on low beam so I can take any that evasive action to miss an object than just hit it. As Frank Gardner once told me - 2 metres "into an object" is much more painful than missing it.Does your wife/girlfriend/partner suffer from night blindness? This condition affects more women than men. Does you partern drive at night with the children in the car as well?12. Our products have been tested on both Bathurst 24 hrs events by many cars - all of which came through with flying colours.13. Finally - if anyone whats to discuss this with me - I would be than happy to call them or host some kind of instant chat forum here.14. If anyone would like to test a set and report back to the forum then please call me to discuss. Guys - I'm an aeronautical engineer who has spent 4 years researching, testing and improving the best on offer from Europe. I'm not someone who is just seeking to make a fast buck and then walk away. Also, we have a comitment to put back 5-10% of our total revenue into local motor sport sponsorship to help those up and coming guys who just need a little extra to make their mark.I look forward to the discussions form hereon and again I thank Dallas for starting this discussions and awareness.Best Wishes,FrankXenonOz"Go play in the dark"www.xenonoz.com Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10673-xenon-headlight-conversion-kit/page/2/#findComment-121197 Share on other sites
