However, misquoting "facts" or "statements" is unproductive at least and inflammatory at worst.

Just call a spade a spade mate. Driving around with either driving lights or fog lights on, in conjunction with your low beams on, is illegal.

You know as well as I do that driving lights must be wired up to come on with high beams only, whereas fog lights are driver contolled, but can only be used if weather conditions allow. Ie both of these lights are illegal to use in the circumstance mentioned above.

I'm not looking to start a sh*tfight mate, in fact we are off topic as it is. Just the negativity of this place as soon as someone mentions a mod that may not be 100% legal gets to me. Yes we need to know if things are legal or not, but sometimes the benefits can outweigh the cost. Its up to the individual.

Let me find out everything I want to find out about the system, report back here, and then we can argue it till we're black and blue. :spoton:

Sorry Trumpy but this is not "absolutely" correct either but I do understand the point you are trying to make.

It is quite legal to have your high beams, including driving lights, on and in conjunction with them you may have low beams on as well. For example all early XRs (pre AU) were wired this way as were many Fairlanes of years past.

It is also quite legal to have fog lights (just call them cornering lights) wired through your high beam so that they act like driving lights.

It is correct that you may not have fog lights on with your low beams unless weather conditions warrant it.

I know this is off topic but if people are going to bring legalities into it then we may as well have the correct information available for all to know.

I know its important the whole legal thing, but sometimes it gets in the way too damn much.
