BLKXRT: It only occurs in 4th and sometime in 5th (from memory I think it occurs a little sooner in the rev ranfe in fifth). It has never happend in 1-2-3 and there is no coughing or rough running or anything!! That's why it's got me so buggered?!? It doesn't go into limp mode.MS700: That Murphy feller seems to follow me everywhere I go...Benny: It's about 4000rpm in 4th only (not sure of the km/h [yeh-private road in the middle of area 51...]) When it happens in 5th it is definately less then 4000rpm.XR6ISM: Hmmm. It has been cold in Melbourne lately, and I first noticed it at night....I don't think it's an overboost though because the car does not go into limp. I think we may have the same thing, because when I back off and reaplly at less then WOT I can push through this strange barrier.... How many km's have you done and have you had to a dealer since? If so what did they say? Thanks to all who reply.Chris. cdm Member 886 Member For: 22y 8m 6d Posted 10/05/04 11:43 AM Author Share Posted 10/05/04 11:43 AM I think I will have to take it into a dealer soon and get it checked. Only I'm not sure how they can test it....I'm not overly keen of some other goon taking my car for a hoon and I don't really wanna take someone for a drive to show them anywhere other then my private road, in area 51, in the NT, on Mars.... This is why I had hoped someone on here may know what I am talking about so at least I am equiped when I walk into the dealership in case I get the, "we can't find anything" or "it's all within Ford spec" or "They all do it". 2fast4u Member 7 Member For: 22y 1m 14d Posted 10/05/04 12:35 PM Share Posted 10/05/04 12:35 PM it might just be your ecu with the black oak thinking that the motor is pumping out more power than it's supposed too or it maybe thinks your simulating dyno pulls on it as well. cdm Member 886 Member For: 22y 8m 6d Posted 10/05/04 01:50 PM Author Share Posted 10/05/04 01:50 PM Peter: Thanks Peter. I have been meaning to give you a bell for the last week or so but have been very busy. Shall do ASAP. Brian: Good advice re the dyno. As far as fuel is concerned I always use Optimax and obtain it from one of two different servos in my area. I don't think it is the fuel as I have been through a few nearly full loads now (refills about 62L). I do have a boost gauge that I monitor and have not noted any abnormal activity however to be honest I only take a quick glance when travelling at this kind of speed. 2fast4u: It may be an ECU problem, however I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "Black oak" however if the ECU thought the car was putting out more power then it should in theory cause the problem in every gear. Thanks, Chris Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10648-power-loss-beyond-4000rpm/page/2/#findComment-120731 Share on other sites
