Mate with the jap crap subaru, go away met this is ford power only bud. XR6 Turbo will eat u mate

Have some respect for other cars. I was thinking of buying a WRX before the XR6T so everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Im sure some subaru's would absolutely kick our asses.. but so what. We enjoy Ford's and that's that.

Yeah well People I may b a bit of a hill billy coming from Far North Queensland. But up here u r either a Expensive Daewoo man or a Ford man, no jap crap works mate.

Mate, it is confirmed, you ARE a hillbilly with that attitude. Race a WRX around tight corners and on wet roads and you will be eaten alive. Give credit where credit is due - although it appears that your small mind cannot grasp that concept.

And just for the record, I have owned a WRX, and I pick up my turbo ute next Friday. Variety makes the world go round. Open minds keep us in harmony.

Uh Oh, it's mate with the jap crap.

Maybe I'll cancel my order. Nah, it's obvious that some ford drivers are open minded, friendly, etc...

Ladieslookout, sorry to offend you. I have been to north qld many times on business and there are quite a few jap cars up there. How do you cope with them? Ladieslookout alright...

Back to the exhausts, Turbo6man, that is exactly how I was looking at it. The std system must be very good at current specs (boost) therefore I see no huge gains with a bigger exhaust therefore no great value. Perhaps we will see more when we increase boost. But increasing boost should not be seen as working with an exhaust. If you have a std system on a WRX and it makes 12psi (factory) changing to a 3" system will almost always see boost spiking to 13.5 or 14 psi straight away, due to increased exhaust efficiency and flow. I would expect the XR6T to do similar. That is, boost should perhaps increase by 1/2 - 1 psi over the standard system. That's why your mates say 'man, that exhaust sure made the car go better', but in reality, all you have is more noise if the boost were to stay constant.

Until we see some dyno proof without sales interest, I think the std system will be staying on my car. Like I said, especially for $2k...

Bathrone,

Agreed. It sounds like a more sophisticated version of the WRX ecu. Self learning means that yes, it has optimal settings, but it will learn that if it is getting more air in (eg rampod) it will add more fuel to keep the mixture right and therefore make more power. Your fuel consumption will increase, but again, you are making more power. Same goes for better exhaust system.

For example, my car uses lotsa fuel cos I am running 15psi with a cold air duct and different exhaust, among other mods. If I were to change these things back, fuel consumption would revert to normal too... but I like the power.

I'm pretty sure the XR6 ecu will be similar. But like everyone else on this site, I'm doing a lot of guessing.
