Ok.....need advise and I have read though all 6 pages :spoton:

I probably differ a bit here because Im about to purchase an acreage property and need my salary to be as high as possible for the banks.

I was told by the bank that they do not just add 15k say to your salary if you have a FMCV...it is more like 5k.

So I guess a novated lease would see droping my borrowing power.

With the company Im talking to they will give you car allowance maybe 15k-18k(unlike high roller Buf)

Im in the second highest bracket 80-180k

So is my best option now HP and claim interest, Kms(will do 25k+) and "repairs" as will be used approx 90% for work.

How far can you go claiming comsumables like tyres and servicing?

The company has deals with Toymotor not Ford so the discount wont apply either

Buf might be able to answer this best as he was the closest to this situation.

Hope you can help

cheers

Mate usually a letter from your employer will confirm your salary package (thus maintaining your borrowing power)

Otherwise if you have a high business use you can get the same outcome (tax-wise) if you buy it yourself in after-tax dollars as you can with salary packaging. Only difference is, unless you are personally registered for GST, you miss out on claiming the GST where your employer otherwise would if it was packaged.

depends on how long you want to lease it for and how much residual you want to have. Maybe try looking for LEASE CALCULATOR at Google... Oh and it also depends on the interest rate! You'll generally pay a higher rate on a car that is more than 4 years old too

Keeping the car riki, I just bought it out of the lease with my company but I need to work out what the payments would be on a new one to charge back to the other company I work for. It's either I charge it back or get a new car and I would prefer to keep driving the bf
