Guest Scootre Guests Posted 06/05/04 10:55 AM Share Posted 06/05/04 10:55 AM 9,800k's here and not a drop less oil since it's first oil change at 3,000. Next week she's going in for some warranty work (damned shoosh-shoosh rear brakes and a couple of other things) and some fresh oil and a new filter. And if your story is true (Turbomark is an interesting nick by the way) then FoMoCo would be up for supplying a new car in my book. I am by no means baggin the ford product at all, just sharing my experiences with you all, which is what this forum is for isnt it?my family knows how good the ford product is and out of the 5 BA Xr6s that my family has bought this is the only one that's had a problem!scootre I also think dad should be asking for a new car but I dont think ford would ever go for it. the rest of the car is fine, they are replacing the bits that are broken and that is good enoguh for dad.I believe that some of the early boss 290 engines in the GTs had a similar problem and ford had to replace some of those.anyway in the end its no-where as bad as holdens cock up having to replace 1000s of Gen 3 motors over the last couple of years!on that note here is a bad-luck Expensive Daewoo story to make you all feel better...this also is a true story.last year a good mate of mine sent his VX SS back to the dealership because it was using oil. they replaced the motor and a day after he got it back, the car burnt to the ground because of a wiring fault by the mechanic who fitted the new motor! The only good thing to come out of all this is that Expensive Daewoo replaced his VX with a VY SS, with $1400 change-over!
