I am REALLY starting to fear this cruise...

And if we go to Cascade or Boags brewries and I'm a designated driver I better at least have BCL's car to drive in :spoton:

Any Taswegians know the rules for P-Plate drivers down there? Speed and alcohol limits and the rest?

110kph on nearly all highways and mainly common sense speed limits(they haven't really cottoned onto the revenue raising yet  )...

Drink driving in any state.. :k24t::nod: but its 0.05,not overly sure about P platers

Im not to sure about Tassie that's all, I wouldn't drink and drive BUT in NSW I cant even use mouthwash without being 'over the limit'! :w00t2: If I have a middie of light Im over. just wondering if Tassie is the same.*

Also, Im limited to 100 here, no matter if its a 110 Zone or not, but I read somewhere that P plater's in Tassie it was a max of 80 :spoton: ! Also would I need to wear plates or is it like Joe Land up north?

*EDIT-Just to clarify, in NSW L/P Platers have to have a blood alcohol reading of 0.00 AND, Im not to sure on this one but people with full license under the age of 25 have to be under 0.02. Plonky? Little help.

You're correct on those new restrictions.

Lumpy:

This is from the Tas dept of transport website……P-plate stuff

Requirements for provisional licences

Customers must comply with these requirements during the first continuous year:

· not exceed 80 km per hour

· always display 'P' plates on the front and rear of the vehicle or the rear of a motorcycle.

Customers must comply with the following requirements for the full provisional period:

· no alcohol present in the body while driving

· not to teach a learner to drive.

As far as speeding goes, the chaps in blue are fairly active around my neck of the woods (Launceston)….

I've had my P's for two-ish years, does that mean I'm over this period? I've already lost points over something ridiculous about my P's, I just don't want to risk it, again.

Thanks for that clarification to Lord Cyric. The restrictons on alcohol here are a bit of a bane with me, I normally close the shop and have a beer with my landlords, cant leave straight away, so I keep them company and have another, 12 rums and two pies later I end up curled up on their couch watching Big Brother at 2AM :spoton:

Cheers,

Lumpy
