Why is it that people critisize all jap import cars just because there are a heap of jabbers out there that wack stickers on them with over the top body kits. If you take the time to look over some of these smartly engineered cars you'll see that not all of them are jabbing pieces of crap.Ok now I prepare for the onslaught of replys.I do love my BA Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10556-whats-going-on/page/2/#findComment-118807 Share on other sites

Rob19 is just reporting the facts. He didn't say he personally preferred the R34, just that the people on the DVD did.Why did they say R34 was a better car? Was it based purely on performance around OP? Maybe a lighter car is just easier to through around on a race track, the XR is rather porky as we all well know. Quote "Tiptronic is slow to control" "Doesnt want to respond to the steering" Quote "Its a bit like driving a limousine with a little bit of power" Quote "It's quite mushy to describe the overall feeling of the car" Quote "The Overall feel is way too soft, its like a big wet sponge, and the handling is atrocious"Warren Luff's comments on the XR6T : Quote "Great to be able to drive a turbo car that doesnt have tonnes of lag to it" Quote "At the end of the day its not built for a track car, its build for a road car and its a pretty good road car."On the modified vehicles..In the modified cars the Skyline redeemed itself by more power (then the previous R34 and better handling due to suspension work. Comments on the R34 by Ric Shaw Quote "Much more power then the previous R34 driven, Tiptronic dramatically lets it down, the balance in the body and balance is 100% better with the suspension" "Problems with putting the power to the ground"Comments on the Modified XR6T from Luff were " Quote Definently notice the power improvement, only downside is that its an automatic, could certainly do with some suspension work as its standard int he suspension department, but other then that it is a nice well balanced car." Quote "The XR6T is a really good all round package, It doesnt have too much power, but certainly enough if you want to have fun with it"Even though it is was my car used on the track.. I can say from your post it looks like the comments mentioned were slightly incorrect. They didnt say the R34 was a better car.. they just said at the time if your planning modifications the skyline has more possibilities wider range of performance products and an extensive knowledgebase of tested improvements.... Quote If your happy to keep it standed.. take the falcon.. its streets ahead! In my opinion they are still two awesome cars but the xr6T has to win on price and ongoing costs when you look at more than just performance.I also wouldn't class an R34 as rice. Not yet anyway, wait till all the current 180sx, R32, and silvia clan get hold of them. Then they will turn rice. Although the 4 door skyline is pretty ordinary it has more sport in its bloodline then the falcon - considering it is related to one of the greatest performance cars to come out Japan, R34 GTR and its predecessors. The Falcon is great BFYB but it is probably more of a “pseudo sports” car then the Nissan. As for the Nissan – the fact a lot of wankers drive around in their full sick rice mobiles doesn’t change the fact it’s a good car. In fifteen years time the next generation of doof doofers will be getting around in XRT’s like they do in the VL’s and skylines at the moment. Just a thought... I was actually almost on the brink of buying one a while back. I was within weeks of actually going to the importer I chose and to get a car. Then I saw the "glowing exhaust" picture in the newspaper with "XR6 Turbo coming soon". Then I changed my mind and bought my beast a while later;) The R34 skyline's do deserve some respect. Not every skyline is fully rice. But a comment from a friend of mine who has an R33 with stock motor, but lower suspension etc always sticks in my head. I let him drive my T and he basically said "wow, I didn't expect it to be this good" Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10556-whats-going-on/page/2/#findComment-119069 Share on other sites

As we all know this is going to be the case with the xr6t falling into the hands of riceers. No one wants to believe it is going to happen.
