This guy is an absolute perfectionist and straight to the point about everything. He has known my father for years and they are City Ford's main choice in repairers in Sydney, and also recommended by Ford Insure.Anyways, i was checking out my car and he was talking to me. He said he ordered the right hand guard from Ford and it came in, they sprayed it and went to put it on and the guard was way too short, leaving the bonnet overhanging the length of the guard. He ended up respraying it back to black and sending it back to Ford Motor Company saying its not good enough. They then sent him another guard, and this one was a bit better but still not exact. Just wondering has anyone else noticed that the guard does not line up exactly with the bonnet? I havent really noticed myself, but was wondering if its the same on your cars.He also explained to me that the quality ie front bumper and guards are not the best, compared to european cars, that they have made it extremely light and flimsy and more for looks and not protection. He said the guard is like paper thin same with the bumper. He was amazed at the way it could just bend. Obviously for appearance, weight reduction and cost reduction. Very interesting... maybe someone can post a pic of how the bonnet and guards line up. Would be interesting to see.

Headlight bonnet intersection from above? As I remember the top of the right guard took a hit :( The Black beast is perfect in my eyes and also in most beholders as well.get back to me sometime soon and I'll see what the mighty Canon can do. I noticed that the plastic back bumper seems quite flimsy as well, when you hold on to the bottom part at the side and wobble it. it just doesnt feel that well supported. Guest MrSparkle Guests Posted 24/02/03 11:03 PM Share Posted 24/02/03 11:03 PM Not long after the BA was released, NRMA released their major crash-test cost comparitor. The BA was up quite significantly on the repair costs, compared to the AU, but overall it was still the 2nd cheapest to repair out of the current models that they tested. The VY was $900+ more expensive I think (but could be wrong here, memory is far from perfect!)
