I decided to take the opportunity to stretch the T's legs. All was going well up to about 110kph when I noticed a louder than usual turbo noise. Kinda like it was boosting harder then normal?I didn't think too much of it at the time as it only occured for a moment, butwhilst under acceleration, the car "coughed" and then started to run like an absolute dog!!!! Like it was running on four cylinders! Wouldn't accelerate any further. It was chugging along quite badly, it felt like it was about to stop completely so I made my way to the outside lane to pull over, or be ready to at least.I waited for a minute and just as easily as the problem started, it stopped! and all was well again. The car's 2 weeks old and only got 1,700 Kms on it! Anyone had this happen to theirs?Needless to say I'm a little concerned.... and a bit

Also have a general look in the engine bay for anything loose or disconnected. If nothing looks out of the norm then take the car to your dealer. I noticed it after I fitted a boost gauge you could actually see the boost climb to about 11psi and then the party would stop. It was more of a problem after I fitted the K&N filter and centre muffler delete.CheersFrank

The valve springs are known to cause rough running, but the problem generally clears up after a minute or two.If it was overboost, there should be a fault code logged, next time it's in for service mention it to the service advisor... Mario Mendoza Member 82 Member For: 20y 10m 8d Location: Blue Mountains Posted 04/05/04 07:52 AM Author Share Posted 04/05/04 07:52 AM Thanks for the advice.I certainly didn't have the revs up all that high, maybe 3 and a half grand max. Was basically just cruising along and decided to give it a little so I just squeezed it on. I have had a look under the bonnet and couldn't find any obvious problems. And on the trip home this afternoon I performed the same actions but the car didn't miss a beat this time. I'll definitely get it checked out by the dealer. What would cause it to over boost? Is this problem likely to damage anything?Still, having said that, it does seem to go pretty well!!!

Was it a cold morning in Sydney? My car did this several times. It would over boost then go into limp mode for 45-60 secs and recover. By your explanation it would sound like this is the case. Not sure what you can do about it. Best to check with the dealer.Chris.

It only occurred within the first 1500km of having had the car ... I put it down to the fact that the car hadn't yet 'settled' in and some internal mechanicals were still a little tight .... have now done over 9000km and problem hasn't re-occurred. Guest rodxr6t Guests Posted 04/05/04 12:04 PM Share Posted 04/05/04 12:04 PM I"ve had two T's and both mine have done the same thing, particularly noticable after you have been on cruise control at 100kmh for 30 minutes or so. You give the car a squirt and about 3000revs it simply looses power and goes into limp home mode, only lasts about 30 seconds or so. I guess in total across the two cars I've had about five instances of this, the dealer can never find anything wrong however (no codes) and it seems to have gone away now this last car has a few k's up.Good luck with the dealer and a solution.
