Slight problem here folks, we are not a club.

Im estimating it would cost thousands to close Mt Panorama for any period of time.

Mick, of course you are correct, but it is nice to dream.60ks just aint the same is it ?

who needs to close the track...I mean road.

We have UHF CB's and there is only one entrance into the track. If we post a guard, survey the track and do not do anything silly you would be fine. I have done around 100+ down conrod before....several laps :crybaby:

I'll probably get shot for suggesting this...

I wonder if Plonky or VG could organise a local Police XR to escort us 'round the mountain ?

Would make for some great photo opportunities ! :glad: Not to mention Trumpy's bumpercam ™ :kissmy:

I'll go hide now & wait for the flood of "you've got to be crazy" replies :glad:

You're crazy

You guys think that this is the sort of thing we should be discussing on a public forum?

Using CB's and monitoring the entrance so that we can speed around the track, where people live? Hitting speed limiters down conrod? With their kids riding bmx bikes down their driveways?

Come on guys, if this does eventuate, it will be a cruise, at the speed limit, and enjoy being on that side of the fence for a change. 25+ XR6's is kind of easy to notice, and I'm sure the local officers are well practiced in spotting groups of cars that tour into town.....

I think your right trumpy last thing we want is giving the forum unwanted negative publicity and it is a narrow two way road with propertys frontages. Should be great to see conrod full of T s.

Yes, what they said...

I just though it might be a hoot to get a Police XR6 Turbo to "escort" us round the track (while observing all posted speed limits)...

Would make for some great video coming through the chase - I'm sure that some tweaking in post-production could speed up the action !

Might even get us some "goodwill" from the cops if they can see that we're just there for a photo opportunity and not trying to set new lap records ???

While it is "The Mountain" there are far more sensible spots to do 100kmh "legally" on the way to/from Bathurst !

:D I grew up in Orange ( 1/2hour drive west of Bathurst ) and I have done many 60km/h cruise laps around what is arguably one of the best circuits in the world. Do not think for a minute that the Bathurst police are not aware of what takes place around the mountain. They have many methods of catching speeding vehicles and ZapXR6T if you have done laps around the mount at 100kmh + then you are lucky not to have been nabbed & I would suggest you do not tempt fate.

As Trumpy stated Mt Panorama is a PUBLIC road and is policed accordingly. I live on a long staright road and it s*its me to tears when all of the hotmix heros decided that 130kmh in a 50 zone is OK !

Enough of the gripes. Bring on the Bathurst cruise, There is an excellent spot near the Dipper where you can great shots of the cars coming down the mounts

Cheers
