And fit in a stop at maybe the three sisters as well.I am sure there is lots of places to go and visit adn drive that may be good. Even down to Jonolan caves is a fun road and we could maybe do a cave walk on the way to bathurst if timings where right.Wayne Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10478-a-cruise-to-bathurstmt-panorama/#findComment-117313 Share on other sites
Guest White Beast XR6T Guests Posted 01/05/04 02:17 PM Share Posted 01/05/04 02:17 PM Hi GuysI reckon its a top idea.I took my new "T" up there in Dec.02 (yeah, long time ago!!!) and the wife, kids & I spent a day cruising Bathurst, the holy grail (track) and the museum. We are from Canberra and the drive from Yass to Cowra really lets the T open up.We would be interested in a trip (even overnight) again. With winter sports would be available next school hols for a Sat/Sun trip.Cheers.Go the 'T" Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10478-a-cruise-to-bathurstmt-panorama/#findComment-117318 Share on other sites

sharkey Member 337 Member For: 21y 5m 1d Posted 02/05/04 02:06 AM Share Posted 02/05/04 02:06 AM This sounds like a great idea. I nearly went for a trip out to Bathurst yesterday, but went to Kiama and back through the southern highlands and Picton instead. There is a great series of back roads all the way from Mount Panorama back to Donnybrook (just this side of Lithgow). Not only is this an interesting drive it is the only way to go when you go to the races at Bathurst. After the race it takes less than an hour to get to Lithgow, where as it can take more than an hour just to get back out onto the Great Western Highway if you go the normal way. I was dissapointed when MissXR had to cancel the last one at the last minute because of a stack of drop-outs.June / July in Bathurst is very very cold..... Not good for people, but very good for Turbo performance....
