HUH?? How the !hell! does that work?? If you put the gear stick to the left you gotta change change it manually yeh(isnt that the whole point?)?? otherwise it'll just bounce off the limiter every time! As a novice to dragstrips, I would enjoy learning more about what is involved in stalling at 2000rpm? Does this mean holding the brake and accelerator at the same time until you reach 2000rpms then keeping it there until launch? Also, why 2000rpm and not higher or lower? Does this mean higher and you get too much wheelspin while lower you do not get enough power to the wheels? Thanks. Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. You got it in 1 doc. 2000rpm seems to be the optimum on street tyres. You are correct in that you hold the brake whilst using the accelerator. The more revs you can hold the harder the car will launch. If you go much over 2000rpm the wheels will start spinning and then its all over. The actual RPM could be different in th GT it would just be a matter of trial and error to find the optimum revs.Hope this helps.Geea. Guest Big Mick Guests Posted 02/05/04 05:04 AM Share Posted 02/05/04 05:04 AM A comment from someone relating trap speed to horsepower got me thinking,I took my T down to the weighbridge at the local tip and recorded a race weight of 1840kg (4050lb). The operator looked at me weird when I was wearing my helmet Then used this CALCULATOR to give an estimate of the hp required to the 113mph trap speed I recorded the other night.466hp = 347kw ????Obviously the accuracy of the weighbridge is unknown, but it seems pretty close given what Ford claim & my 110+kg.Mick

The proof is in the MPH. PeterAPS
