Geea, I'm going to Heathcote in two weeks time so it will be real interesting to see what times I can run up there. As the car is basically just run in, I reckon the new rubber on my car helped, although once it gets a few more k's on the clock it may free up a bit more and run harder.

As I mentioned in the original post, I never had any problems with traction launching at 2,000rpm, although as you know launching at even 100rpm higher can change all that.

Haven't thought about how I will display the time yet, hey I haven't even got an avitar yet!

Big Mick, If you are going to the heathcote drag day I have some grippy treaded tyres if you want to try them, let me know and I will loan you the set.

By the way what premium unleaded fuel did you use on friday night?

Thanks Whitetee,

Mate, you just have to try it!

This is what I did:

1. Start engine

2. Traction Control Off

3. Select Performance Mode (Not Manual Mode)

4. 3-4 seconds of spinning the rear tyres with brakes on

5. Stage

6. Stall to 2,000rpm

7. Leave when your ready

8. Hang on and enjoy the ride

Make sure you tell us how you go!

Mick

Oh and 9. Remember to brake once you cross the traps!

Thanks for the offer Peter but I'll stick with the factory tyres for Heathcote.

I know if I had better tyres I could launch harder and the times would be quicker (I think you just neeed to look at how slow Geea's and my 60' times are compared to other cars running 12's with slicks to relise this) but that would be against what I'm trying to achieve with my car. I race it EXACTLY as I drive it on the street.

Beleive it or not I had half a tank of Optimax based on your recommendation and my wifes need for Flybuys ..lol. I could never get that stuff to work in my Windsor.

Cheers,

Mick

He mans just pushing the stick over to the left but not changing it manually.

Once over to the left, you have the first three gears to change through (it's done automatically) and under hard accel the car goes right to (almost) redline through each gear.

No need for 4th on the drag stip.
