This was the first ever problem I noticed with the car.

The day I picked it up I put it in reverse to back out of the dealership, and the gear wouldn't engage.

After a blip of the throttle I was thrown forward, that's when I found out the seatbelt pretensioner works a treat :D

Ever since then, when reverse is selected, the gear takes 10 seconds to engage, stays engaged for 2 seconds then disengages for another 5 seconds, etc...

The normal up shifts are dead slow (I wouldn't know but people in the know have told me so), and the downshifts are even worse.

I've been pressuring each dealer I've gone to apart from the latest (5 in total) for a new gearbox. I've been told 17 times now "we've updated the ECU let us know how it goes" even though there arn't 17 ecu updates... x 17

So on Monday morning I took it to Gregorys Ford in Braddon, was a bit saddened by the lack of friendly service in the office, but the guys on the floor are bloody legends.

I replicated the problem, and they checked it out. Got on the phone to Ford, disconnected some wire, still happened.

Now I find out a new gear box is being ordered for me and I didn't even pressure them for one!!! :D

Another wrap for Gregorys, they've fixed about 4 and had a go at another 4 of my remaining 18 issues.

They also told me my exhaust was loose, and even missing one bolt. As part of general turbo servicing, they need to retighten the exhaust bolts. Aparantly this has never been done.

Anway, big :k24t: to Gregorys for finally getting me a new box and giving great service.

:banghead: never thought I'd ever use that one..

Well done Cro, glad to here, mines been in for three days, apparently they are changing the gearbox oil to Redline I think is is, to try and stop the whine.

The gearbox works great and that is why I am affraid to change it. Same reason as the diff, I do not want one that is worse! :spoton:

Well done on the new box. I know haw happy I was when I got mine, a mixture of happiness and relief. I think now that you have found a helpful service centre that all your issues will be resolved and that your "T" will become the great driving experience it should be.

Geea. :hrmm:

Good stuff. I only had my lower grill and Vortex thingy installed at Gregory's but I found the office guys great to deal with and the service guys were good to. They have a nice setup there.
