The old 'Left Lane theory"

Works every time, especially on Parramatta Rd because drivers get scared of being so close to telegraph poles or passing up the inside of trucks and buses.

The left lane is just as wide as every other lane......

I agree with driving in the left lane (Lane 1) because it is the quickest

use your indicators, give way when you're supposed to and keep out of the overtaking lane, then there shouldn;t be any 'road rage'.

And don't drive up people's :spoton: arses!!!!!!

I've been trying to educate my troops at my new station to go out on the M4, sit in the Number three lane doing 15-20 over, making sure that the sign on the roof bar "Keep left unless overtaking" is illuminated and booking all the people that use the overtaking lane unnecessarily.

That's beautiful. :spoton: Even better, do it without the sign on, or even better again, in an unmarked car.

Same can be said for the drive between Brisvegas and the Gold Coast. Keep Left and have clear road all the way. 3 lanes and every body has to keep right ...................pfffft QLDers.

Before ya start Scotty I am orininally from there . though now misplaced.

ok This is my only Question if you r in an 80 k zone and you r doing 80k as you are driving at the legal speed limit why do people overtake. you may have a right hand turn coming up or as a sales rep I might be looking for a street to turn into in the next 300 metres and your not sure so your in that lane so you dont miss it.. It has been said on this site if u go over the speed legal when overtaking you are still speeding and will be booked. Problem is that everybody wants to be the lead driver on the road.people become abusive because they beleive they have a wright to be in front of you.People are impatient /then you have speed cameras then you have old people on the road being bullied by dickheads etc. I drive at the legal speed limit because I cant afford to lose my license and some people critsize my driving because if it says 60 I do 60 etc theres times when I creep over but btw keeping your eyes on the road the car in front of you pedestrians it happens.I would love to drive my T fast but unless I put it on the track it wont see more than 110k. Anyway my 2 cents but road rage is about people thinking they have more rights than other people in sharing the road.

regards

Stang

Valid question but the problem is that you must keep left unless overtaking where the speed limit is MORE than 80kmh or is the signs dictate same.

Therefore the speed limit has to be more than 80 for a driver to keep in the left lane unless overtaking.

If the speed limit is 80 and you are looking for a right turn etc (as the scenarios you mention) then you are not obliged to keep left.

The main thrust of my comments were aimed at the situation on the Motorways where dumbkopfs sit in the overtaking lane. Ever wondered why there is traffic congestion on these motorways? The reason is because people won't keep keft.

In the ACT I think the keep left unless overtaking is in effect for speeds above 70km/h, so here the 80km zones are effected..

I think they should bring ion new laws.

1) if people sit in the fast lane and either go below the limit or sit next to other traffic, at the first opportunity you should be able to drag them out of their cars and beat them senseless.

2) Trucks should be banned from the 3rd lane. I kinow they are doing a job, but there is nothing worse than 3 truck driving next to each other up a hill. Same penalty should apply. (if its a big mean truckie we should be able to enlist as many friends as nessecary to carry out punishment).

Geea. :outahere:
