Evening guys and girls,

I purchased my T a year ago now with all the sh*t including blue leather steering wheel. The car has travelled 16,000kms and the colouring is wearing off on the right hand side of the wheel. I don't wear any rings or anything else on my hands that will damage the leather. Would this still be classified as a warranty issue or is it to many kms on the clock. Any one else come across this problem so far? And what was the result?

Any comments greatly appreciated.

IMHO .... if Ford have got the balls to charge another $600-$800 for a crap steering wheel that is coming off in your hands in the first year and argue replacing it under warranty .... then there is little hope for us all :repost:

let us know how you went .... good luck :spoton:

tell em you want another one. it shouldn't do it for the amount of money you shell out for it. Not even the stock one does it.

I hope they replace it for you :spoton:

I totally agree with Rob...jesus if the colour is fading after a year either Ford or Momo must be liable

Maybe your gripping the right side of the steering wheel much too hard ? :spoton:

I'd be taking it back and asking them to replace it, at worst they should fix it.

Well, here's the basics of Australian Consumer Law: "The product must be of merchantable quality" and "the product must fit for the purpose for which it was sold".

It's purpose here is to be handled constantly and it isn't lasting. I'd say it fails in both cases, wouldn't you?

Go see your dealer. I'm sure they know the score on things like thing. They should give you a new one (and by the way, in this case the warranty on the replaced item generally starts again) or you just go to the Dept of Fair Trading and they'll get a replacement for you.
