There is a bit of talk on aus.cars ATM about the BA Falcons Air Conditioning system.

There are several people claiming the barra is almost impossible to cool on a hot day, is this correct?

Has anyone had any concerns/problems with the quality of the A/C?

l reckon the heating/cooling system in the BA is excellent. The A/c has no problems cooling the car, l dont know why these people think there is a problem.

The car is obviously designed for Australian conditions and l reckon there's no way Ford are going to release the Barra with an A/C that cant cool the car. l dont think you have anything to be concerned about.

Well I do not quite agree!!

Here in Perth we have had some pretty hot days, and the aircon is struggling!

It is better than the AU, but still lacks real quick cool-down capacity after the car has been parked in the sun for a while.

Once cooled down, no worries! Cloudy hot days, no worries!

The airconditioner in my XR6T is excellent. We have had 45 deg plus for months here and the car sometimes reached 58 deg while in the sun. I installed a thermometer. The car cooled a lot quicker than the gear knob of the manual. It only took 10 minutes to reduce the aircond to a lower setting.

The only critisism is that it doesn't have climate airconditioning.

I agree I think the aircon is perfect and cools the car really well. Especially with the type of days we have in Sydney often..

I Wish, I Wish, I Wish it had climate control - I would have paid extra to have it but - no go.

I am really going to miss the Climate control of my current car.

The Climate Control issue was the only bugbear on buying my new XR6T. I've had climate air for 11 years and I thought I was going to really miss it. Well guess what - I don't. You muck around a bit when you first get in but after 1 adjustment it works fine. What I miss is the ambient tempreture readout. I bought an indoor outdoor tempreture guage from Dick Smith but the reading is not right.

If anyone knows - Where is the best place to put a sensor? Where is it placed on cars with climate control?? Anyone out there knows?

The air con sensor is often fitted as part of the door light module on the interior roof of the car. Depends on what make/model car, but as long as the sensor isn't effected by any other heat/cooling factors (direct sunlight etc), then it doesn't really matter.

Whilst driving around in the XR6T for about an hour with the air-con on, I noticed white vapours coming through the centre dash vents. I immediately switched the air-con off and went home. I checked under the bonnet and the air-con pipes were covered with water. What's going on??

This is only condensation, combination of heat, moister and the cold gas(edit:did i say water DOH!)running through the pipes, the white mist could be accustomed to this as well not sure.

Have you been seeing little white rabbit's dancing in tunick's with pink elephant's since it happened, maybe somebody dropped a baggie in there when it was being assembled. :P
