Guest vasilih Guests Posted 23/02/03 03:33 AM Share Posted 23/02/03 03:33 AM Hey Guys, I bought an XR6 Turbo back in Dec 2002 and take delivery in mid March 2003. I can't wait. So far on the option list is 18" wheels, Sat Nav, Premium Audio, Scuff Plates, Sunroof, Leather Trim and Premium Brakes. I was just wondering though if anyone had any info on the Sat Nav system. How does it work and what's it like? Pics, comments, thought would be appreciated.I also having issues with getting the windows tinted after market as the aerial is in the back window. I have heard that you can't use metallic film. Just thought I'd share that with you. If you want a tint, with all the trouble I have gone through, just get it factory standard.Cheers, Vasili

Its DVD-driven, so the whole of Australia is on one disc. You can enter an address anywhere and it'll route you from your current location. BUT, I've been to a few dealers and they don't have it on display! :( Can someone please post some pics, showing the display when it's working would be great! BTW, where does the DVD go? And are there going to to upgraded discs? Thanks ppl!

They had a sat nav system on display in one of the dealer cars, and it was quite a beauty actually. You have to get premium audio to get it because it comes up on the same screen as the audio controls do.It comes with a remote control and the sensor is on the front dash, but is not visible. It is just like a little computer in your dash. I'm sure it would be easy to use when you get used to it.The DVD just goes in the normal cd slot in your audio system of the car. With premium audio you get a six stacker so it just takes up one of them. It's actually pretty clever.

I certainly hope *not*. I don't care that it would use up one slot in the 6 stack CD player, but I would seriously hate not being able to use the CD player and SatNav at the same time.Anyone have pics?? I will post pics if I get hold of a usb cable for my camera (I have misplaced mine). The system works great, as well as addresses you can also enter in a restaraunt name, theme park or whatever place you want to go to and it will direct you. It has has the feature which redirects you an alternative route if you take a wrong turn instead of telling you do a u turn etc.The only gripe I have is the womans voice who directs you is not loud enough when driving at high speeds. Apart from that it is well worth the $s if you are doing a lot of kilometres

Its a little tricky to get the disc in and out (because of the cover), but its well-hidden!The only gripe I have is the womans voice who directs you is not loud enough when driving at high speeds. Apart from that it is well worth the $s if you are doing a lot of kilometresThis is a known fault with the satellite navigation (they were delivered without a pre-amp). Ford are releasing a technical bulletin to fix this fault soon.I have some pics of the Satellite Navigation somewhere. I'll post them when I find them.
