Guest DARREN COLE Guests Posted 25/04/04 02:45 AM Share Posted 25/04/04 02:45 AM (edited) Hey all, I'm only brand new to this site so I apologise if the questions I'll be asking have already been answered (my intro can be found in 'chit chat') In three days time take possession of a '04' XR6 Turbo Ute in manual form and I can't wait. Everyone here would agree that the Barra 240T can send the ute of into the wrong end of the speed limit But! I've had no luck in being able to find recorded times over both; 0-100kph 1/4mile In the five speed manual and without any aftermarket modifications. I do know that 'MOTOR' magazine recently compared the XR6 Turbo, XR8 and SS utes, but were autos (XR6T still came out on top) If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction of officially recorded times for both distances, that would be great. Sorry again of this question had already been answered. I think you will find that the manual is slower over the standing quarter then the auto.... you will find hours of info on basically everything.... so sit down grab a cuppa, beer or what ever it is that you drink and start browsing If you want a cheap mod stick on the xr8 airintake... you will find this under xr8 airintake using the search feature... cost about $70 and an hour of your time works a treat Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10366-0-100kph-and-14-mile-recorded-times/#findComment-115259 Share on other sites

Darren April 25th 'LEST WE FORGET' Hey Darren, just add a couple of seconds to the sedan times. Sorry its a slow day and I havn't picked on ute owners yet. I thought now was as good time as any to start. You will probably find that this thread will probably generate more interest now that I have added some thoughtful insight. Geea. That test result was using a manual XR6T. Or you could take it to a strip and find out for yourself. Guest Tockley Guests Posted 11/05/04 12:27 PM Share Posted 11/05/04 12:27 PM I can't believe that the XR8 Ute weighs 5 kilo's less, has 20Kw more, and 50 Nm more and is f*cking slower than the Turbo ? ? I don't really care cos mine sounds better doing it's slower quarter mile, PLUS I can tow nearly 2.5 tonnes with the bas*ard when I've finished playing! You just GOTTA love the hump in the middle of the bonnet too!!Tock. Tockers, if you look at peak torque V peak power it is obvious , the T is in the band from approx 3000rpm , with the 8 not hitting its straps until later in the rev range, ie the T is quicker off the line and keeps going , the eight is playing catch up. Game over. Now where is that Vortech?
