Procar.com.au has just announced that the series will be SHUT DOWN strait away after the latest board meating this includes all catogorys

MY predictions for these catogorys are...........

Nations cup: Will NOT be re invented as new series will be shutdown for good and finally our racetracks of australia will be free of the filth thet we all know as the 427 "monaro"

GT Production: lower class catogory in below listed plan

GT-Performance:Maybe brought out by AVESCO as a new form of Group A racing would be very popular and would help us get better performing cars for the street sooner.

V8 Brutes:Will be brought out by avesco they have allready tryed once but now the brutes are up for sale and will be brought, with new management this catogory will be an absolute beauty

F3: have NO idea???

Was very shocked to find this but it is official, pity we were planing to goto sandown but doesn't look like it's gonna make it :crybaby:

That's a shame, it was the only decent racing that still came to tassie after the V8 supercars pulled out a few years ago  . Good to see AVESCO is going to take over the brutes as this might make a good series even better and they might come to tassie, hopefully.

good luck to the stewards in charge of this category - I love the brutes, have them at every V8 supercar race I say.

A sad day in motorsport indeed! Hopefully the categories get picked up and supported by AVESCO and others. I feel sorry for all the teams, most of whom have very tight budgets, who went out and secured sponsorship and spent up large on their teams for the '04 season only to have it blow up in their faces. :spoton:

Don't know about the 24H, would be much better under new control, maybe avesco will take over and have it as a non-championship event for the V8's makesence teams would be able to gather heaps of data for the next years 1000 the only trade off would be all the lower class cars in the way but I cannot imagine to many v8 supercar teams wanting to miss out on 24 hours of data gathering?

Also in my first post I made some predictions for procars existing catogorys and there future, these are only my predictins and are NOT official although garry rogers did say on sundays RPM that he expected AVESCO to pick up a few as support catogorys.

But did still blab on about the 427 "Monaro" and the need for it to find a catogory for to race in, where in my view he should have used the money that he put into the develoment of these so called "monaros" into konika entered a two car team and gave jamie whincup and another younge gun a chance in a catogory with a very very bright future, in a few years I can see konika being a very well supported motorsport catrogory 2nd most supported in ausralia if it isn't allready there.
