I use the genuine motorcraft filter it only costs me $7 and the dealer won't know that I've done it if changing the oil myself ever becomes an issue. The oil I use is Castrol GTX3 because my dealer uses Castrol and I will only put 15W-40 in it because it's the recommended grade. And I drain it when it's warm because it flows better. Guys I am pretty sure that their is a blurb on the side of the K&N Box stating that manufacturers can't void warranty etc for using filters other that their own, unless thay provide them free of charge?? (anyone clarify) so hopefully shouldn't matter what filter you use!The best advantages of warm, hot oil flushes is the sediment is suspended in the oil once at operating temp and also flows so much better!watch the burns though Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10337-oil-change/page/2/#findComment-115005 Share on other sites
