We only get premium up north but I still think that my 200rwkw on an APS phase1 is a bit slack what does everybody else think. I started with 170rwkw

200rwkw's is a bit low for a APS I. That being said I think that a 30rwkw gain is great. I think you would find that if you took your car down south as is, and used Optimax or similar that your rwkw's would be alot higher. I have lived in Cairns and the heat and lower quality petrol would both be bringing your reading down.

I think if you go by the gains the chip has made that you should be happy.

I think you will find that the brand of dyno utilised may be the reason for the lower than expected power reading, by the way does your car have a manual or auto trans?

Let me know what brand of dyno the installer used to test the power, this may shine some light on the issue.

I certainly will let you know, I hope to achieve 1:28 or less but I am still investigating brakes, Brembo are probably the answer but very expensive, however I am prepared to pay for the right results, that is why you look after my car.

Any suggestions on tyres on hopefully a dry day? (currently std Dunlops)

Last effort was 1:34 without chip (standard BATXR6) so I really need all the help I can get now with the 273 @ rear wheels to get times down and stay on the track with the ability to stop.

Thanks for your interest

HASCO BATXR6

Mate if you can lap sandown in a 28 or lower this would be an excellent lap time for what is basically an every day street car. By the way what rubber are you using for the track days?

I think 200 rwkw's is a bit ordinary for a ph1 :pinch: ....I had that stock in shoot6 mode

Definitely could be a fuel problem but your missing power somewhere

Dont think so...as Peter states depending on the dyno and an auto transmission those numbers appear quite normal and could equate to around 260-270 FWKW. There are many variables at play.

Yep Pete, I may be dreaming at 1:28 but I am certainly going to give it a go, I did the 1:34s prior to you chipping the car on standard fitted Dunlops, but as suggested brakes were not the best, combined with Auto. I was still pleased with these times for a standard XR6 T but now I have your phase 11 I feel the extra power in the short straights will help a lot combined with the Brembo brakes I intend to fit prior to my next run. Still waiting for recommendations on tyres [/b]which will make a big difference, even though I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of the Dunlops at 45 psi. Any suggestions for a race tyre for all round track work wet & dry would be appreciated.

Good one Worpur.......perhaps it refers to the plural of Citric - ie you and I = us, anyway.....BUGGER! Great colour though! Had an old fart pull out in front of me today and when we were alongside at the lights I shouted that SURELY he couldn't claim not to have seen a car in that colour!...even he saw the funny side.

PS did you get the auto box modded and do you know what mods they did?

Cheers,

Dingah
